A message from the Event Organizer

After visiting Tanzania in April 2010 my heart was broken. For the first time in my life I came face to face with people living in poverty. I made a promise to myself on my return to the US that I would never forget what I saw & I would find someway to help but help in a way that would give the biggest possible impact. I found my answer when I met the folks behind Nurturing Minds. It was simple Education is the key for breaking the cycle of poverty & focusing on girls specifically will make the biggest impact. To quote an African proverb "If you educate a boy you educate an individual, but if you educate a girl you educate an entire village"

Mike on his visit to Tanzania in April 2010.

I have been an employee of Merck since 2006, first at the Cramlington site in England & now here in West Point since 2009. I am proud of the work this company does for society and I am proud of the employees that make this company what it is. The money we will raise from the Team USA V The World soccer games, no matter how small you think your donation will be, will make a huge impact to those young girls that Nurturing Minds supports. I can't emphasize this enough. I'm so excited about this project - Soccer is my passion & using the world's number one sport for this great cause gives me tremendous satisfaction. I look forward to your contribution to this event either as a player, a sponsor or a helper and from the bottom of my heart I thank you in advance for donating to the cause of Nurturing Minds.

Kind Regards

Mike
